COMPRESSION & EXPANSION

Thirty-three floors high, with astonishing views on three sides, this apartment made a dramatic statement before we even embarked on a renovation. But we found ways to boost the drama — and pair it with intimate spaces and livable moments — beginning with the entry, a highly curated and contained experience, with textured wall panels and a sculpture niche, that leads to, well, wow.

A SOFA FOR ALL EVENINGS

Of course! A double-sided sofa, custom made to give residents ultimate flexibility when using their living space. Conversing or reading? Entertaining or being entertained?

A TOUCH OF BRONZE

It's more than layout and use of space. Superior materials, textural richness, and precise detailing are the hallmarks of our luxury residential design. In this case, we use a repeated motif of vertical bronze to pull individual custom elements into a harmonious whole.
For this marble-backed bar, we refused to settle for either silhouetted bottles or bright bottles against a darkened backdrop. Partnering with Focus Lighting, we found a way to light both the gorgeous stone and the bottles on display. Custom cabinetry and sofit embrace the bar and pantry in a sleek and snug integrated wooden wall element that defines the space as one of generous welcome.

SPLENDOR IN THE DETAILS

Nothing should be more carefully wrought and more
personalized than the master bedroom. Here the slatted wood wall doubles as a headboard. It's lined with acoustical felt and inlayed with bronze that absorbs all of life's less elegant necessities — electrical outlets and usb ports — and even gives the Travertine nightstand a helpful lift off the floor.
One of our favorite touches: the upholstery on the custom built-in bench is "slatted" like the wall, and sports bronze-colored piping at the cushion seams to echo and emphasize the bronze detailing throughout the apartment.

OBJECT & MIRROR

These bronze mirrored walls create a closet — a beautiful box — but they also act as surfaces that reflect the natural light, enlarge the room, and multiply the playful flower petal chandelier by cohesively blending bold materials and unique decoration.
